Popis: I) adS I33. L. Giles: {s(S# Tso chquan) Selections from Xt IV, § 7, :@7g42t, IX, XI, XIV, XXI, XXIII, XXV (569-548 B.C.). With commentary by Tu Yu. .t) 1) It has been well established that this MS is a selection from the Ch'gn-ch'i? Tso-chuan chi-chiehv WtJ>SS4%fW with Tu YuXs tt0ja commentary. It did remain obscure, however, who selected these passages. The present writer thinks it to be beyond doubt that this MSS I33 is actually a copy of chapter 5 of the Ch)is-shqs chWh-yao g eX. This well-known work is a collection of passages selected from falnous texts, ranging from the classics and histories to various philosophers, which svas compiled by the svell-known minister of T'ang Tai-tsung, Wei Cheng @ m and his collaborators and presented to the throne in 63I. One of the co-authors was Hsiao Te-yen t-t,X, a man who was famous for his knowledge of the Tso-chgcln, as we learn from his biographies in the two T'ang histories 2). For this reason it appears probable that it was Hsiao Te-yen svho was responsible for the selection of these passages from the Tso-chgan that nour appear in the Chn-shx chWh-yao. Com
