Questions in regards to the way literature communicates with reality consist, since the times of Aristotle, in motivators of countless discussions. In this sense, the present paper starts from the reading of the short story "El Outro", by Jorge Luis Borges, with the intention of searching for an understanding of how this literary production is constructed as representation. Considering its insertion context, one seeks, with means of the considerations from scholars such as Costa Lima (2003), Compagnon (2001) and Aristotle (1984), to comprehend the relation that the mentioned fictional text establishes with what is regarded as reality and with other literary discourses. |
