Popis: | A novel constellation shaped 11-QAM signaling scheme based on geometric shaping (GS) and probabilistic shaping (PS) is proposed in this paper. The 11-QAM signals are obtained by Huffman coding with an optimized 11-QAM constellation structure. Then the non-uniform 11-QAM signals are generated by bit-interleaved coded modulation (BICM), which can get a better performance of bit error ratio (BER) and approach the Shannon limit. An experiment of the proposed 11-QAM constellation is carried out to transmit data over 25-km standard single-mode fiber (SSMF) in the polarization division multiplexed coherent optical communication system. Results show that when the data rate reaches 33Gbps, the proposed GS/PS 11-QAM scheme respectively outperforms the traditional uniformly distributed star 8-QAM and the traditional PS 9-QAM by 2.9dB and 1.2dB in OSNR. |
