Popis: 1. 1. Addition of sodium chloride to the drinking water of the red-necked pademelon, Thyloyale thetis. reduced feed intake, nitrogen balance and potassium balance, and increased water intake, water turnover and sodium balance. 2. 2. In the tammar wallaby, Macropus eugenii, water intake, water turnover and sodium balance also increased, but to a lesser extent; feed intake and nitrogen balance did not change. 3. 3. Thus the tammar, an arid zone species, appears better able to adapt to saline drinking water than the pademelon. a species found only in rain forest.
