Popis: In studying the genetics of immune response capacity, it is of importance to work in a molecular system in which it might be possible to obtain knowledge of the exact antigenic determinant(s) under the genetic influence. It was with this in mind that synthetic, random polypeptides were first used in genetic studies (1), since it was assumed that these polymers had simpler structure than the average multideterminant antigen. Recent evidence (e.g. 2,3) clearly suggests that there are multiple unknown specificities in an antigen such as (T, G,)-A—L, making precise analysis difficult.
