In the field of microbial biomineralization, much of the scientific concentration is focused on processes done by pro karyotes, especially bacteria, although it is also known that fungi are involved in biochemical cycles in many ways. The objective of this work is to find a new self-healing idea during which fungi is used as a crack-healing agent to enhance calcium carbonate precipitation. The experimental results showed that Trichoderma viride has much more growth in basic medium. Also this fungi have shown calcium carbonate precipitation. XRD plots confirm the presence of calcite in the precipitation. Hence the implementation of fungi in Mud bricks resulted in increase in properties of bricks. SEM and EDAX confirms the presence of calcite crystals which is responsible for filling of pores in mud bricks. |
