Role of electronic symmetry of stark components in non-radiative relaxation in Eu3+ in Eu diglycolate

Popis:	A time-resolved study of emission, following selective excitation of the 5 D 1 , 5 D 2 and 5 D 3 levels of Eu 3+ in Na 3 Eu(C 4 H 4 O 5 ) 3 ·2NaClO 4 ·6H 2 O (EuDG) using a pulsed dye laser is reported. On excitation of 5 D 2 (F) the emission from 5 D 0 exhibits a fast and a slow build-up. This has been explained by involving two independent decay modes of 5 D 2 .
