Popis: Thermosetting unsaturated polyester resins are the most common fiber-reinforced composite matrix today because of their low price, ease of use, and excellent mechanical and chemical resistance properties. Phenolic resins are used where the inherent flame retardance, high temperature resistance, or low cost overcome the processing difficulties and lower mechanical properties they possess. Other important thermosetting polymers used as composite-matrix materials are epoxy resins and bismaleimides. This article discusses the manufacture, application, and properties of these resins and the composites made from them. Keywords: Thermosets; Polyester resins; Phenolic resins; Epoxy resins; High performance; Curing agents; Laminates; Bismaleimides
