Popis: A switched reluctance linear tubular motor that is proposed as a simple and cheap drive for a water pumps, which are in need in developing countries, is analyzed in the paper. In order to develop a strong driving force at the reciprocating motion a double coil motor with two springs is proposed. Driving electromagnetic static forces are analyzed for various motor dimensions using FEM. Simulation results are compared with those obtained from an experiment carried out on the motor prototype.
