The goal of Charger Rocket Works (CRW) is to design, build and fly a reusable rocket carrying a scientific payload. This is part of a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) sponsored competition for universities around the nation to compete together to further understanding of the fundamentals of rocket design. The mission of CRW was to deliver a payload to one mile in height and then guide the upper airframe section of the vehicle back to a designated coordinate using an autonomous guidance system. Data for the ejection environment on the parafoil was a secondary goal of this mission. |
