Previous research has suggested that images of preferred food can trigger a forward postural sway compared to images of neutral food and images of non-preferred foods (Brunyé et al., 2013). Similar effects have been reported for positive compared to neutral and negative IAPS pictures (Eerland, Guadalupe, Franken, & Zwaan, 2012). These effects manifest in a relative shift of the centre of pressure while participants are standing on a commercially available power plate (Nintendo Wii balance board, WBB). In the present work, we will try to replicate these effects conceptually, and build on them in order to use postural sway as a measure of desire for drinks. |
