| Popis: | As a preliminary gesture anticipating the ceremonials of the Fiftieth Anniversary of the founding of the American Institute of Planners, this paper reviews some of the historical forces, events, and personalities preceding that moment of organizational identification of the profession. The 1917 appearance of the Institute is shown to be a marker along a developmental route of considerably earlier origins. |
