Fermi resonance in condensed CF4 and CCl4

Popis:	The infrared absorption spectra of CF 4 and CCl 4 have been observed in both the pure form and in rare gas matrices at low temperatures. The region studied corresponded to the ν 3 , 2ν 4 , and ν 3 , ν 1 +ν 4 Fermi doublets of CF 4 and CCl 4 respectively. The interaction of the vibrations in Fermi resonance in these molecules changes considerably from that found in the gaseous phase. The spectral features observed are discussed and related to S trizhevskii's theory.
