Popis: A new species, Filsoniana lhasanensis, is described from Tibet, China, where it grows on rocks at altitudes 4200–4432 m. The lichen is characterised by a poorly developed or absent dark orange areolate thallus, lecanorine to zeorine orange to deep-orange aggregated apothecia, and richly branched and anastomosed paraphyses. DNA was obtained for three gene loci—nuclear internal transcribed spacer (ITS), nuclear large subunit (LSU), and mitochondrial small subunit (SSU). Phylogenetic analyses support the taxon as a new species of Filsoniana .
