Popis: The profile is the foundation of designing a screw expander and its characteristic influences the performance of a screw expander. In this paper, some parameters of profile influenced by the center distance, number of teeth and teeth depth of female rotor are analyzed and the considerations is proposaled as a expander is designed. The length of contact line increases with the center distance and the teeth depth of female rotor but decreases with the tooth number of female rotor. The relative area of leakage triangle decreases with the center distance and the teeth depth of female rotor but increases with the tooth number of female rotor. The ratio of length to diagram of male rotor decreases with the teeth depth of female rotor but increases with the tooth number of female rotor. The Area utilization factor increases with the teeth depth of female rotor but increase with the tooth number of female rotor. The angle of suction process is smaller than the discharge one, so the area of suction port is very important for a screw expander in order to reduce the flow resistance.
