Popis: | The conditions for the preparation of the Langmuir–Blodgett (LB) films of individual and mixed europium and terbium behenates are investigated. Spectral characteristics of the luminescence from the obtained films are determined by means of UV and IR spectroscopy. The luminescence of the films of behenic acid, as well as europium and terbium behenates, is studied at the excitation wavelength of λexcit=366 nm. It is stated that the band with λmax≅465 nm corresponds to the T1→S0 transition, while more narrow bands (λ≅489, 592, 617 nm) can be attributed unambiguously to the transitions in Eu(III) and Tb(III) ions. The enhancement of the luminescence of Eu(III) by Tb(III) in LB films of the Y type was observed. A mechanism involving excitation and energy transfer in the investigated system is proposed. |
