Popis: | In this connection, the use of nepheline ore as a slag thinner looks promising. Test heats using the ore have been conducted according to present specifications. The ore is added to the slag during the refining period, about 20-30 min after melting of the metal. Ore consumption Varies from 120-400 kg per heat, depending on the sulfur content of the melt and the amount of added lime. Samples are taken during the heat to determine the chemical composition of the slag and metal. In all, 250,000 tons of metal have been refined using nepheline ore. |
