| Popis: | Until recently, the acquisitions department of Augsburg University Library relied almost entirely on conventional, i.e. manual, book ordering and book processing. As a comprehensive electronic solution will yet be some time in coming, the library decided to use allegro-C with its ORDER module for the time being. This was done in the hope that procedures would be improve as to speed and efficiency and that especially the cooperation between the acquisitions department, the subject librarians and the branch libraries would gain in transparency. It is in particular the practical experience of all those involved in the project that will make a valuable contribution to the future use of an electronic acquisitions system. |
