Popis: |
Two new morphologically distinct cell lines have been established from ovaries of 3-day-old pupae of the navel orangeworm, Amyelois transitella (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae). When grown in GTC100 medium, HCRL-ATO10 consists mainly of strongly attached epithelial-like cells with a population doubling time of 34 hr; while HCRL-ATO20 is composed primarily of suspended spheroid cells with a 35-hr population doubling time. Results of isoelectric focusing with phosphoglucomutase and phosphoglucoisomerase distinguish the cell lines from each other and four other lepidopteran lines. |
