Popis:	Tetraethylthiuram disulphide (antabuse, abinyl) has the character of a pseudo-halogen. In organic solvents it reacts with several metals giving salts of diethyldithiocarbamic acid. Copper gives at fir a able cupric salt, but on prolonged treatment with the metal a cuprous salt is obtained. The cuprous salt and an excess of disulphide immediately give the cupric salt. Diethylthiocarbamic acid, containing only one sulphur atom, gives only a cuprous salt.
