Objectives: Our aim was to answer the question of Is there a statistically significant relationship between plasma ischemia modified albumin (IMA) levels of acute kidney failure (AKF) patients before the hospital admission and their clinical healing progress.Patients and methods: Between August 2014 and October 2014, we included 18 patients (9 males, 9 females) who were diagnosed with AKF and investigated the relationship between patients’ blood levels of IMA before admission to the hospital and clinical progress. Results: Plasma IMA average of 18 patients before treatment was 628. After treatment plasma IMA average was 428. A statistically reasonable relationship was detected. Conclusion: Our study suggest that hospital stay of patients who had higher plasma levels of IMA was remarkably longer than who had lower plasma levels of IMA. Also we detected that the more plasma levels of IMA increased, the need of patients’ for hemodialysis increased |
