Consumtive behavior of fishermen community is reflected in buying behavior of secondary needs. Their income is not saved instead so that when their income is reduced, when drought comes and plenty of fish is available (famine of fish ),many of the fishermen owe to the loan sharks so that it will aggravate their condition increasingly. The purpose of this study is to analyze the consumptive patterns exist in fishing settlements and to find out what factors which affect the formation of consumptive patterns of the fishermen community by using qualitative methods. Qualitative approach used was in-depth interview method to find out the pattern of fisherman consumptive. 100 fishermen were taken as samples with purposive sampling techniques. From the results of consumptive pattern research occurred at Labuhan Bilik in Labuhan Batu Regency, comsumptive behavior is caused by low quality of human resources, low quality of human resources can be seen with : 1) the majority low level of the community's education that is not in school or study until the elementary school and 2) the skills owned by Labuhan Bilik society, fishermen's job is highly dependent on the special skills but it is only in the physical strength and experience, 3) the lifestyle of the community is characterized by: a) the allocation of income and b)the allocation time of the community in the coastal areas. 4) And the ratio of expenditures to income earned by fishermen. It can be characterized by: a) different food and b) clothing expenditures which indicate that there is consumptive behavior, it ican be seen from their purchases such as household appliances and motorcycles owned by fishing families.5) the fishermen’s activities during drought (famine of fish). |
