Specific heat of hot electrons in the gas and in the condensed state

Popis: Time resolved hot carrier transport experiments have proved to present an important tool for studying the heat capacity of electrons. We report the first determination of the specific heat of an electron gas near the degenerate-nondegenerate transition as well as the specific heat of condensed electrons. The latter data revealed the magnetic field induced transition from the gas to a liquid-like and eventually to a solid-like electron state with decreasing temperature.
