Popis: | We demonstrate the usefulness of an atomic beam source for refractory metals in Doppler-free spectroscopy. The splittings between seven hyperfine components of the weak 578.071 nm transition in TaI are measured to ± 1 MHz. The hyperfine A and B coefficients for the upper and lower level are determined from the observed splittings. |
