Popis: The purpose of this chapter is to present a series of cases that highlight those situations, when children fail to respond to psychosocial treatment approaches in schools and an emergent need for a psychiatric consultation develops. Case studies (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Conduct Disorder, Depression, Social Anxiety Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Psychosis) related to each of the mental health conditions reviewed in this book are presented. Each case study provides an overview of the child’s presenting problem, background/case description, targeted goals/behaviors for psychosocial intervention, and rationale for a psychiatric consultation referral. The purpose of each case study is to provide readers with a sense of the social, emotional, behavioral, and developmental costs associated with each child’s current behavioral functioning within the school and home settings.
