This work compares the Energy Production (EP) in Spain for four photovoltaic system configurations: fixed, 1-axis and 2-axis tracking flat plate, and Concentration Photovoltaic (CPV). Data from many of the large systems that were installed in Spain in 2008 is used to compare the predicted and the actual performance for the different configurations. The real performance of different EP systems using sun trackers is compared with that of the fixed installations. This paper presents the mismatch between the real gain 2-axis vs. fixed configuration (26.0%) and the theoretical number (38.7%), for the installations in the southern part of Spain. EP in CPV installations in Spain are also estimated for an average year, predicted for 2009, reported real and compared with 2-axis flat plate performance.
