Popis: Two experimental aerosols, one containing allethrin and the other tetramethrin, were compared with a standard aerosol containing pyrethrins plus DDT that has been used to disinsect aircraft. Caged adult Anastrepha ludens (Loew) were exposed to 6, 8, 10, 12, and 40/g aerosol per 28.3 m3. Knockdown was determined after 10-minute exposure and mortality at 24, 48, and 72 hours. The allethrin aerosol was the most effective of the three because of a combination of fast kill and the small increase in dose required to obtain a large increase in kill.
