Popis: In order to establish the basis data for river restoration and environmental ecological flow(EEF), we investigated EEF and riverine health condition in the GILAN Stream, a tributary to Nakdong River, Korea. The number of fish individuals sampled was 805 in 18 species of 6 families. The most abundant species was pale chub(Zacco platypus, 33.3%) followed by Korean chub(Zacco koreanus, 23.3%). EEF was estimated by PHABSIM(Physical Habitat SIMulation system) using the HSI(habitat suitability indexe) of Z. koreanus. HSI of Z. koreanus was estimated at 0.2 ~ 0.5 m and 0.1 ~ 0.4 m/s, and fine gravel to cobbles. According to the analysis of EEF simulation, Optimal flow was 2.1 ㎥/s(WUA: 28,682.7 ㎡/1,000m) in GILAN stream. A flow rate of 0.85 ㎥/s, which is 25% of the optimal weighted usable area, was calculated with the minimum flow rate necessary for maintaining the river ecosystem. In the future, it is necessary to discuss and study at least the determination of the flow rate when calculating the EEF rate.
