Popis: | Various industrial groups and governmental bodies have attempted to define a standard of practice for environmental assessments. This paper discusses the difficulty in establishing a standard of practice and presents various attempts that have been undertaken in developing due diligence criteria. The liability associated with inadequate environmental assessment/audits and the difficulty in selecting investigation criteria for lending institutions, buyers and sellers are discussed. A review of the current legislative solution for clarification of the due diligence issue is presented. |
