Popis: The Southest region is the most populous of the Brazil and has the largest workface. However, this region has wage differences that can be explained by theories of human capital, segmentation and discrimination. In this context, the aim of this study was to analyze the wage differences and discrimination by gender and skin color in the occupied population of the Southern region, in 2002 and 2013. Using The National Household Sample Survey (PNAD/IBGE) database, was analyzed the profile of the occupied population, the elaboration of the estimates of the mincerian equations and the Oaxaca-Blinder decomposition. It was found increase in wage gap between men and women (discrimination). In relation to skin color, althought more unequal than gender, there was a reduction of unexplained wage differences, in other words, wage approximation between white and non-white and reduction of the discriminatory factor. The situation presented requires the development of public that reduce the differences to provide the wage equity.
