Popis: | In aluminum-hydrogen peroxide batteries, when an inert net is placed between two parallel plates through which the electrolyte flows, the flow field is altered severely. This affects the local current distribution, and this effect is very pronounced when the reactions are mass transfer limited (limiting current conditions). The effect of the net on the current density distribution is presented as individual and combined effects of longitudinal and transverse ribs. In all the cases the local current density was observed to follow the changes in the local velocity profile. Also it was observed that the transverse ribs if in contact with the metal anode, could potentially increase the dissolution of the metal anode. |
