Popis: | GMPLS is a protocol suite extending over MPLS which provides automatic switching of paths to ensure high network up-time and availability of services. In this work, an attempt is made to create a simulation environment that emulates a complex network which would give an insight into how the GMPLS algorithm operates under different failure scenarios. The environment used to host the simulation is Docker. Through this work, it is established that Docker provides a very light weight and scalable solution to emulate complex and large network with minimal resource utilization. A comprehensive study of resources utilized by different networks in a Docker based test bed for a GMPLS simulation is presented in this paper. |
