Popis: | An experimental study has been made of the influence of hydrostatic pressures of up to 40 kbar on the low-field DC electrical conductivity of AgN3 over a temperature range 273-373K. Activation volumes for conduction in the intrinsic and extrinsic regimes have been determined. A pressure-induced variation in activation energy for the two conduction regimes has also been measured. The results support the view that the conduction is purely ionic with interstitial Ag+ and Ag+ vacancies as the predominant charge carriers in the intrinsic and extrinsic regimes, respectively. |
