Popis: Effect of substitution of CuO with Fe2O3 on the iron oxidation state and electrical conductivity of some lithium borosilicate glass samples studied using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron (XPS), and Mossbauer spectroscopy (MS). Infrared results show that the homogeneity of the glass increases with the iron concentration increases. X-ray electron spectroscopy measurements showed that the ratios of Fe+2/Fe+3 depend on CuO. The results also indicated that the iron ions in the glass samples under study contain Fe2O3 more than 7.5% in the ferrous state. By studying the electrical conductivity, it was found that the conduction of samples depends on the oxidation state of copper and the mixed transition metal effect.
