Popis: | Thiourea immobilized silica was prepared and applied to the separation and preconcentration of trace lead and cadmium in environmental water and pharmaceutical products followed by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) determination. Factors affecting thiourea immobilized silica extraction were investigated in detail. Lead and cadmium were selectively retained by the modified material, and then eluted quantitatively with 1.0 mol L−1 HNO3 and 1.0 mol L−1 HCl plus 1.0 mol L−1 HNO3, respectively. With enrichment factors of 20, the detection limits of lead and cadmium were 6.36 and 0.093 µg L−1, and the relative standard deviations were 7.5% for lead (n = 11 at 0.5 μg mL−1) and 1.7% for cadmium (n = 11 at = 0.05 μg mL−1). The method was successfully applied for the determination of lead and cadmium in environmental water and pharmaceutical products with satisfactory results.
