Popis: | A male neonate is born at 39 weeks’ gestation to a 33-year-old mother. Her prenatal laboratory findings were unremarkable, and she was followed up closely for intrauterine growth restriction, probable left renal agenesis, and possible bowel abnormality noted on biophysical profile. The neonate is born via cesarean delivery for nonreassuring fetal well-being with Apgar scores of 8 and 9 at 1 and 5 minutes, respectively. In the delivery room, the infant develops some respiratory distress, and with the prenatal history concern for multiple congenital anomalies, he is transferred to the level 3 neonatal intensive care unit for further care. On examination, his birth weight is 2.895 kg (15th percentile), length is 51 cm (approximately 75th percentile), and head circumference is 33.5 cm (10th percentile). The facial dysmorphology examination findings are remarkable for small palpebral fissures, flattened nasal bridge, and micrognathia (Fig 1).
