Popis: | At AO Sokolovsko-Sarbaiskoe Gorno-Obogatitel’noe Proizvodstvennoe Ob’edinenie (AO SSGPO, Rudnyi, Kazakhstan), at the end of 2005, specialists from OAO VNIIMT and AO SSGPO monitored the operation of OK-116 roasting machine 1, with a view to improving its output and energy consumption. The AO SSGPO administration also demanded rapid results, i.e., implementation of the proposals with minimal expenditure of time and money at a single roasting machine, with subsequent expansion to roasting machines 1–8. The thermal system of roasting machine 1 is shown in Fig. 1. Its working area of 116 m 2 (29 gas–air chambers) is served by seven draft units D1–D7. The width of the roasting car is 2 m. The productivity (roasted-pellet output) of the machine is 100 t/h; the mean pellet temperature at discharge is 350 ° C. On the basis of the initial data obtained from machine 1, the operational efficiency of the technological zones is estimated, and the ratios of their areas and operating parameters are optimized using mathematical models, on the basis of the method in [1].
