The intermetallic alloy Ni3Al has the ordered Ll2 structure, which is based on the fcc lattice (Fig. 1). Ni3Al shows an anomalous behaviour of both critical resolved shear stress (CRSS) and work-hardening rate with temperature. Since the magnitude of the anomaly depends on the orientation of the compression axis single crystalline specimens with different orientations were investigated. In Fig. 2 the results for the [001] compression axis are shown. |
