Popis: This paper examines the effects of both permanent and temporary work experience on attitudes and behaviors in the area of civil liberties. An overall paucity of directly relevent research is noted but there is theory and work in related areas which provides some guidelines. Hierarchical structure, rigidity, and specialization seem to generate negative affect toward civil libertarian concerns, but the effects are not consistent. A theoretical model designed to predict the conditions under which work experience may be significant in this area is proposed.
