X‐ray study of elastic and plastic strains in Na+‐implanted (001) monocrystalline MgO

Popis: | The morphological, plastic, and elastic strains in Na+‐implanted MgO have been determined by measuring the swelling of the surface with a profilometer and in‐plane lattice parameters by x‐ray diffraction at glancing incidence. The high value of the stress (∼9 GPa) is related to a high dislocation density with very low mobility leading to weak plastic flow (∼0.2%). |
