A new generation of light sources is now coming on line to address more fundamental scientific challenges in the realms of the ultra-small and ultra-fast, as well as in dynamics. At Jefferson Lab we have developed an Energy Recovered Linac [1,2] based light source that provides tunable sub-ps and synchronized pulses of IR and THz light not available elsewhere. In SRN 13.4 (2000), we reported on an earlier incarnation of this light source [2], and in the past seven years it has undergone a major upgrade [3]. |
