The "16 + 1 Cooperation" is one of the innovations in diplomacy of China towards the Central and Eastern European Countries (CEECs). The development of the "16 + 1 Cooperation" starts with the initial active promotion of regional cooperation, then evolves into a driving force for the connectivity between China and the European Union (EU) and later centers around the enhancement of the global cooperation on production capacity with the 16 CEECs under the "Belt and Road" (BR meanwhile, it has incorporated important parts of One Belt, One Road (OBOR) into its own development strategy, resulting in a series of achievements. The B&R initiative has undoubtedly provided the "16 + 1 Cooperation" with a wide range of platforms and a great space for development. |
