Popis: | Untreated dental caries remains a challenge in young children and adolescents. Invasive treatments in very young children and children with special health care needs require advanced pharmacological behaviour management strategies. A minimally invasive treatment modality to arrest caries is by application of 38% Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF). Besides its efficacy to arrest decay, SDF is favoured by its inexpensiveness. This review enlightens the evolution, historical background, mechanism of action, clinical considerations, advantages and disadvantages of Silver Diamine Fluoride. |
