Popis: Objective Determine the prevalence of health care associated infections in rehabilitation settings, main infectious sites and germs implicated and risk factors of such complications. Material/patients and methods This is a prospective study conducted at the rehabilitation and functional rehabilitation unit in Sahloul, Sousse, from 1 January 2015 to 30 June 2015. The infections noted corresponded to the definition of nosocomial infection. Results Prevalence was estimated to be 24% of 121 hospitalized patients in six-month, of which 81% are urinary tract infections. The main germs accounted for were E. coli in 48% of cases and Klebsielle pneumoniae in 17% of cases. These germs were BMR in 74.3% of cases. Antibiotics are used in dual therapy in 98% of cases, quinolones were the most prescribed in 44% of cases. These infections were more frequent in patients with traumatic pathology, especially in patients using intermittent catheterization with a prevalence of 37% (P = 0.001) Discussion – conclusion The importance of infectious risk should not be under estimated in physical medicine and rehabilitation services in order to establish a prevention program adapted to the type of care provided in rehabilitation.
