Popis:	This is a study on the radioactivity of Turkish lignites in which the gamma spectrometric technique has been used for the determination of activity levels of naturally occurring radionuclides 238 U, 232 Th, 40 K, 226 Ra and fallout radionuclides 137 Cs and 134 Cs in lignites taken from 12 different parts of Turkey by the Mineral Research and Exploration Institute of Turkey. Concentrations of 238 U, 232 Th, 226 Ra, 40 K, 137 Cs and 134 Cs were found up to 52, 37, 207, 163 Bq kg −1 , LLD, ND, respectively.
