This study concerns on the modification of polysethersulfone ultrafiltration membranes by addition of nanoparticles. The casting solutions were prepared by dispersing nanoparticles in the PES solution in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone. The PES membranes were characterized in term of pure water flux, antifouling propreties, and antibacterial activity. The results revealed that the addition of TiO2 with 3% concentration and mixed MgO and ZnO increased the antibacterial activity. The UF PES membranes with addition of ZnO and TiO2 showed the highest flux and the lowest flux reduction. Further, the PES membrane with addition of 3%TiO2 showed the best performance. |
