ABORDAGEM DO TEMA DIABETES MELLITUS NO PROGRAMA DE EDUCAÇÃO PELO TRABALHO PARA A SAÚDE EM DIAMANTINA, MG

Popis: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a major public health problems of today. The epidemiological impact is evidenced by the increasing rates of morbidity and mortality in subsequent sequels. Given this reality and in order to meet the demands of the labor market, the Labor Education Program was created for Health - Health - PET. This study aimed to delineate the frequency of participation, as well as the profile of the members of the PET - Health, Federal University of the Jequitinhonha and Mucuri (UFVJM) who participated in a training on DM, and analyze the number of amputations performed in city of Diamantina, in the year 2012. PET-Saude/UFVJM The group consists of 36 members, of which 32 agreed to participate in this research. The average frequency of participation in the modules offered was 67.2 % (SD ± 17.4 ) . Participants, mostly (87.0 %) were female and aged 20-59 years, with the largest share (79.0%) concentrated in the age group 20-29 years. The lower limb amputations resulting from DM , held in the city of Diamantina, in 2012 , occurred mainly in those diabetics who also had hypertension . The use of educational practices as a strategy in the treatment of diabetes , improves professional knowledge about DM , improving the quality of life of users by increasing their autonomy from the disease and could avoid the scenario of chronic complications .
