Popis: | Several accurate models of mathematically defined curved surfaces were constructed for use in tactile learning. Exact shape data were generated on a personal computer (PC) using mathematical or computer-aided design (CAD) software. Then tactile models were constructed by layered manufacturing, which is well suited for curved surfaces. This method is flexible in that the equation parameters and model scale can be changed easily. A recognition test performed on several models showed their potential usefulness for tactile learning. |
