Popis:	This article offers an overview of how the Convention 169 of OIT about indigenous people was designed and implemented by the Bachelet Administration in Chile (2006-2010). It is argued that although government`s implementation covered all the aspects considered in this Convention, the short time considered to obtain results was a key factor that weakened the development of this initiatives.
