Popis: | For more than forty years, the Management Training Program, introduced into Japan by U.S. occupation forces after World War II, has played a prominent role in Japan's long-term strategy to disseminate sound management principles throughout its industry and government. Although it strongly influenced the development of the modern Japanese management style, MTP is hardly known outside of Japan. This article, for the first time, documents the complete history of MTP, assesses its impact on Japanese management thought and practice, and discusses the valuable lessons that the MTP experience offers for implementing HRD and management training programs on a national scale. |
